To Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and American President George W. Bush
The state of Turkey is again attacking the Kurdish territory in southern Kurdistan and sending its troops and tanks into the country. Turkish warplanes have bombed Kurdish mountains and villages during the past couple of months, resulting in civilian casualties, destruction of homes and schools, and deaths and injuries to tens of people and hundreds of animals. Hundreds of these families have fled their homes. Investigations point to traces of forbidden weapons and poison as people and animals have been affected by several strange illnesses. These bombings and attacks violate both international law and human rights.

The elections of 22nd July 2007 have permanently changed the political landscape in Turkey, not only with the election of Abdullah Gül as President. This political landslide has resulted in changes in almost every avenue of Turkey’s economic, social and cultural life. The government’s decision to press ahead with the democratisation of Turkey, with a new “civil” constitution, is certainly the most important political initiative of recent years. |

| Kurdish youth in America ready to defend Kurdistan |
Kurdish youth in America today are getting ready and organizing a response to the unjust Turkish invasion onto our land.
We in one voice condemn their invasion and war onto our people. We ask the Turkish government to immediately withdraw and to put an end to the bloodshed that they have created. It should be clear to the Turkish government that Kurds are a proud nation. Suppression, imprisonment, kidnapping, Abraham Tanks, F-16s, Cobra helicopters, arterial bombing nor ground incursion and village burning can make us stop being Kurds!

| The Kurdish and Armenian genocides - from censorship and denial to recognition? |
By Desmond Fernandes
Apec Press, Stockholm, December 2007
ISBN: 91-89675-72-X
Turkey’s repression of the Kurds has been widely documented - and is acknowledged as a major obstacle to Turkey’s accession to the European Union. But what lies behind such repression? Fernandes confronts the issue head on, forcing the reader to probe a question that many in Turkey and elsewhere would rather avoid: does the systematic repression of the Kurds amount to genocide? Open discussion of this issue is critical if a long-term resolution of the Kurdish issue is to be achieved – Nicholas Hildyard, Policy Analyst. |

KurdishMedia.com - By Dr Kamal Mirawdeli

I know that you have nothing left that connects you with Kurds and Kurdistan even your shoes. But you have been claiming in the last four years, when you have been working as loyal slaves to rebuild Iraqi colonialist state, that you are good Iraqists and do everything to protect the integrity and sovereignty of Iraq including its colonised Kurdish part. Now why don’t you say anything against Turkish invasion? Yes it only kills Kurds and destroys Kurdistan but don’t you think it violates the integrity and sanctity of something dear to you called Iraq?
